Simple Fixes for Vaporizers
Your Vape Wont Turn On
Okay, so this one may seem pretty simple but we have all made the mistake of trying to turn something on that wasnt plugged in. Havent we?
Not to mention some vaporizers arent exactly straightforward to use. Most vapes have a multiple click feature to turn them on, so try clicking your on button quickly five times. If it still doesnt work, don’t just keep clicking.
Instead, set it aside for a minute, wait and try again. If this doesnt do the trick youll need to make sure your vaporizer is correctly charging. Remember, just because you had it plugged in does not mean it charged.
Check the threading on your charger to make sure you have a good connection and plug it in. It should switch to red when plugged in and green when fully charged (usually). Also, make sure youre using a compatible power source, and if you still dont have a good connection you may need to replace your charger.
Your Vapor Tastes Burnt
If you are getting a burnt taste from your vapor, chances are your vape is too hot. If this is the case your dry herb or materials could be combusting. That where the burnt taste comes from. Try turning your vaporizer down to a lower temperature for cooler and smoother vapor. The second thing that could be causing your vape to taste burnt, is that your materials are finished. Pop open the chamber and give it a quick look.
Your Device Wont Charge
Vape batteries typically last for years, however, this time can be reduced or lengthened depending on how well you take care of your device. First thing first, how often do you clean your vaporizer?
The amount you clean should be dependent on usage, but if it has been a while, chances are a blocked heating element could be compromising the performance of your battery. Pick up some isopropyl alcohol and cotton swabs and give your vape the cleaning it deserves!
Secondly, try not to overcharge your vaporizer. Leaving it on charge overnight and waking up to a full battery can be appealing but charging it for too long can reduce its lifespan. Lastly, did you drop your battery on the ground or into water? If so, unfortunately it could be permanently damaged. If nothing else is working, it may be time for a new battery.
Your Vapor is Too Thin
If youre not getting enough vapor, often you are not reaching a high enough temperature. Try turning up the heat settings on your device until you start to get some thicker clouds.
If your dry herbs arent ground up well enough, this may also lead to lackluster vapor. This is because of an improper airflow, meaning the hot air isnt touching enough surface area when passing through the chamber. This results in weak vapor or even none at all.
Youre Getting a lot of Draw Resistance
If this is your problem, you may be over-packing your oven. Packing is extremely important if you want the perfect vapor density and, when you over-pack, it makes it harder for the vapor to travel through its air path.
When filling your chamber, use the packing tool to only lightly press down on your herb filling. Most vapes will come with a filling tool, but if not you can always use tweezers.
The second reason for lack of resistance is (again) an unclean device. Not cleaning your vaporizer often enough can lead to a whole host of problems. Luckily, this one is easily fixed. You can clean your vape by taking it apart and soaking it in isopropyl alcohol. Use pipe cleaners to scrub any tough resin stains and make sure all parts are fully dry before using.
