Blackout X Vape Pen Review
Not too long ago, I received a couple of Blackout X vape pens to review here on CBD Village. For those of you who haven’t heard of it, the Blackout X is a disposable e-cigarette style vaporizer designed for use with “all types of e-liquids”, and works best with cannabis e-liquids, just like the JUUL. From what I’ve been hearing it is quite popular in legal marijuana stores.
The packaging the Blackout X comes in is simple and elegant, and it only took me a few seconds to get the unit out (yay no wrap rage!). The Blackout X comes with two parts, a battery/atomizer combo, and a plastic tank which holds 0.8mL of e-liquid. I dropped a few drops of liquid into the tank (be careful to fill the tank slowly and not overfill, otherwise it’ll leak!), attached it to the rest of the unit, and then took a few puffs. One feature that I like about the X is that it has an automatic battery, allowing you to simulate a real smoking experience like the Utillian 721. However, this does mean that you’ll need to take a slightly longer pull in order to activate the battery and produce sufficient amounts of vapor. The vapor produced by the Blackout X is consistent (providing you’re using a properly made e-liquid), and I was noticeably buzzed after only a few puffs. When you activate the battery by taking a puff, a bright green LED lights up in front, and each one lasted about three days under moderate usage conditions. I also liked the ergonomics of the Blackout X, and it was light and oval shaped which made it very easy to hold in both my hand or in between my teeth (which I enjoyed quite a bit!).
Overall, the Blackout X is an affordable option for those who are looking for an easy to use and discreet cannabis e-juice vaporizer and goes well with Greenheart CBD (I can definitely see myself picking up some more to use while I’m in Colorado!), as well as those who are looking for a low-cost introduction to e-liquid vaporization. Furthermore, because of its disposable nature, you’ll never need to worry about the Blackout X atomizer clogging like you would running a reusable 510 setup. However, heavy vapers (such as some medical marijuana patients) and those who prefer vaping concentrates and loose leaf will most likely benefit from a rechargeable eGo with wax globe (for concentrates), or a more versatile vaporizer such as the DaVinci IQ or the Mighty Vaporizer for both loose leaf and concentrates. Also, be prepared to make your own cannabis e-juice if you don’t live in a state with legal retail or medical sales (here’s a DIY guide I wrote a little while back back making your own juice).
